El proyecto, encabezado por la maestra Alejandra Brambila Mend\u00edvil \u2014quien tambi\u00e9n cursa el Doctorado en Ingenier\u00eda de Materiales en la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Nuevo Le\u00f3n (UANL)\u2014, se centra en el desarrollo de cementantes alternativos dise\u00f1ados para mitigar el impacto ambiental del sector sin sacrificar la integridad estructural.<br><br>Actualmente, la industria del cemento es responsable del 8% de las emisiones globales de CO\u2082. Esta problem\u00e1tica radica principalmente en la producci\u00f3n de cl\u00ednker, el componente base del cemento Portland convencional y el mayor generador de contaminantes en el proceso.<br><br>Ante este panorama, la propuesta de Brambila Mend\u00edvil se enfoca en los cementos h\u00edbridos, una innovaci\u00f3n que ofrece beneficios clave:<br>\u2022\tReducci\u00f3n de emisiones: Disminuyen entre un 40% y 60% la huella de carbono.<br>\u2022\tSustituci\u00f3n inteligente: Permiten reemplazar hasta el 80% del cl\u00ednker mediante el aprovechamiento de residuos industriales y puzolanas naturales.<br><br>*Ciencia de Materiales y Econom\u00eda Circular*<br><br>La investigaci\u00f3n no solo busca reciclar materiales, sino optimizar su rendimiento mediante la activaci\u00f3n alcalina. El estudio utiliza una mezcla de subproductos industriales como:<br>\u2022\tCeniza volante y escoria de alto horno.<br>\u2022\tMetacaol\u00edn y micros\u00edlice.<br><br>El objetivo central es analizar c\u00f3mo la qu\u00edmica de estos componentes influye en la microestructura y los productos de hidrataci\u00f3n, factores determinantes para la durabilidad y la resistencia final del material.<br><br>*Resultados Prometedores*<br><br>Los hallazgos han sido contundentes: estos cementos son capaces de alcanzar resistencias superiores a los 40 MPa a largo plazo. Este desempe\u00f1o los posiciona como una alternativa t\u00e9cnica y econ\u00f3micamente viable para:<br>\u2022\tElementos prefabricados.<br>\u2022\tMorteros especializados.<br>\u2022\tAplicaciones estructurales de alta exigencia.<br><br>&#8220;Los cementos h\u00edbridos activados alcalinamente se perfilan como una soluci\u00f3n real.
